The hard hats arrived. Taylor — previous builder of buildings, now building software and relationships. Bradley — master builder of AI software. Not pictured, but still with us on the mission: Jackson, Jen, Jeremy, Kelly, and Josh. ### We've Hauled The Materials Worked on job sites where every delivery, every material count, and every invoice mattered. We know what happens when paperwork slows down the field. ### We've Written The POs Managed hundreds of purchase orders, chased down approvals, and felt the frustration of manual processes that should take seconds, not hours. ### We've Caught The Errors Found the duplicate orders, the budget overruns, and the vendor discrepancies, often too late. We built Punch so you can catch them in real-time. ### We've Trained The Teams Onboarded assistants, taught interns the ropes, and wished for tools that didn't require weeks of training. Throughout our careers, we watched project managers, superintendents, and office staff spend hours every week chasing purchase orders, matching invoices, and catching billing errors. Smart, experienced people doing work that should be automated. Meanwhile, small mistakes like wrong quantities, budget overruns, and duplicate charges slip through, costing time and money. We've written the purchase orders. We've chased the invoices. We've caught the errors at 8pm on a Friday. We've also _missed_ the errors that cost projects thousands. We love the people we work with in this industry: the project managers who care about every detail, the superintendents who know their trades inside and out, and the office staff who keep everything running smoothly. They deserve better tools. ## Why We Built Punch We started meeting with contractors to understand their biggest operational challenges. Again and again, we heard the same frustrations: administrative work was eating up their time. Project managers told us they were spending significant time on purchasing paperwork. Superintendents said they wished someone would "just handle this for me." Eventually, enough people convinced us that purchasing was so fundamentally broken, we had to do something about it. That's why we built Punch: to give contractors their time back so they can focus on higher-value work and the things that really matter. ## Your best people, systematized A lot of what makes a construction company good lives in a few people's heads: who needs to approve what, which suppliers to trust, what to watch for and how the team handles exceptions.
